Our next Explorer Saturday Training will be March 22nd at Apex Station 3 from 815am-until we get done maybe 5pm? It will consist of a wildfire class taught by the NC division of Forestry, and in the afternoon members will recieve CPR/First Aid Training. Any Questions? call AFD #3 at

Requirements

Anyone who is 14-21 and in grades 9-12 can be considered for membership

To be considered for probationary membership you must attend 3 meeting/training sessions which are held Monday nights at Apex Fire Station #3 at 736 Hunter st. Also a meeting with your parents well be scheduled to explain the program to them.

You will be given an application packet which must be completed before you can become a member.

ONCE YOU ARE AN EXPLORER
-Maintain a C average or better
-Attend weekly trainings
-Pull 8 hours of duty time per month

Well today is the beginning of the explorer post 263 website... here you'll eventually find information about members, advisors, joining the squad, what the requirements are, and how to transfer from the explorer program into a full fledged firefighter.

First off the basics... Explorers are high school students interested in the fire/rescue field or who just want to find out more about it. Our explorer program is backed by the Apex Fire Dept. in Apex, NC.
